Analyst Stresses Int’l Awakening in Support of Palestinian Cause
Sami al-Arian, president of the Center for Islam and Global Affairs, made the remark in an interview with IQNA.
He said the operation, launched by the Hamas resistance group on October 7, 2023, created a global Intifada backing the Palestinian people.
“I have lived in the US for forty years,” he said, adding that he has witnessed the recent awakening of the American people, their support for Palestine and their acceptance of the Palestinian narrative and rejection of Israel’s lies.
As for Muslim countries, al-Arian stated, they are expected to do more than just voicing support for the people of Gaza and Palestine.
He underlined the important role that the Muslim world scholars can play in this regard, for example by raising awareness among the masses in order to foil the US and Zionist schemes.

The Palestinian thinker further deplored the discord in the Muslim world as a major problem and a means the enemy uses to attain its objectives in confronting the Muslim world, especially regarding the Palestinian issue.
He referred to the bids among some regional countries to normalize ties with the Zionist regime and said such moves are aimed at diverting attention from the main problem in the region, which is the existence of the fake and usurper regime of Israel.
Asked about Iran’s stance on the issue of Palestine, he described it as principled and based on Islamic and human grounds.
He hailed the Islamic Republic’s extensive ties with the resistance movements and said Iran has been the only country that has helped and supported the Palestinian nation, and other regional nations, practically.
Al-Arian also lauded the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini (RA), for introducing extensive and fundamental changes in how Iran viewed the Zionist regime and the cause of Palestine.
Imam Khomeini also played a crucial role in supporting freedom-seeking movements fighting against the Zionist regime, he went on to say.

The Al-Aqsa Flood Operation was carried out by the Hamas resistance movement against Israel on October 7 in response to the Israeli atrocities in occupied territories and its violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
